    David Crockett was born on the Tennessee frontier, son of a pioneer family.

    He grew up in the wilderness, developing exceptional skills as a hunter and sharpshooter. During the Creek War of 1813-1814, he served as a scout, gaining a reputation for bravery and marksmanship.

    Political Career in Tennessee

    From 1821 to 1823, Crockett served in the Tennessee State House of Representatives.
