Early life
Alexander Gordon was born at Gordon Castle, Fochabers, on 18 June , the eldest son of Cosmo Gordon, 3rd Duke of Gordon, and his wife, Lady Catherine Gordon, daughter of the 2nd Earl of Aberdeen.
